2022 Apple Store Award Winners Announced: See List
Apple has released its 2022 App Store Award winners list to highlight the year’s 15 best apps and games across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV categories. The list includes the novel social media app BeReal, productivity tool GoodNotes 5, immersive 3D family genealogy app MacFamilyTree 10, Latin American entertainment platform ViX, and fitness tracker Gentler Streak. The Cupertino tech giant awarded Apex Legends Mobile, Moncage, Inscryption, and El Hijo as the best game titles in the App Store for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV respectively.
The company’s list of top apps and games for 2022 was announced on blog postApple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement that all the apps and games on the list “delivered new, thoughtful and authentic ideas.”
The company also separately released a list of five ‘Cultural Impact Winners,’ who the company says have “made a lasting impact on people’s lives and influenced culture” by “deeply engaging with their emotions.” Emotional wellness app – How We Feel, a storyteller app highlighting housing injustice and its impact on people of color – Dot’s Home, a widget app – Locket Widget, a hydration app Waterllama completes the list of winners for its cultural impact this year, and the historical exploration app Inua Story of Snow and Time completed the award list in the Cultural Impact category.
BeReal was named iPhone App of the Year, while GoodNotes 5 received the title of iPad App of the Year. Meanwhile, MacFamilyTree 10 is the Mac App of the Year. ViX was named Apple TV App of the Year, while the gentle Streak won the title of Apple Watch App of the Year.
In addition to these applications, Apple has named the best games available in the App Store. Apex Legends Mobile won the iPhone Game of the Year award. At that time, Moncage received the title of iPad Game of the Year.
Apple chose Stealth as the Mac Game of the Year, while El Hijo was revealed as the Apple TV Game of the Year. Wylde Flowers was named Apple Arcade Game of the Year.
As always, the winners of the best apps and games will receive portable App Store awards with the signature blue App Store logo set in 100 percent recycled aluminum, with the winners’ name engraved on the other side.
