Call History Tab for WhatsApp Desktop Seen in Test on Windows

WhatsApp Desktop may get a new tab to display call history, according to details shared by a feature tracker. A new calls tab from WhatsApp has been spotted in the app’s sidebar by some beta testers on the messaging platform managed by Meta. The calls tab located in the sidebar of WhatsApp Desktop is currently accessible to users who have installed the latest beta version of the app from the Microsoft Store. The company recently started rolling out WhatsApp Polls to users for both Android and iOS users.

According to a recent report by feature tracker WABetaInfo, Whatsapp may be coming soon find out a new call history tab in the desktop app. As mentioned earlier, the calls tab from the Meta-owned social messaging app has been spotted in the app’s sidebar by several testers who updated the beta of WhatsApp Desktop for Windows 2.2246.4.0 from the Microsoft Store.

Unfortunately, the tipster’s shared calls tab doesn’t show recent calls, and it’s currently unclear if the app will show calls made from the desktop app or across multiple devices. WhatsApp has yet to announce this feature, which may be modified or improved before it is rolled out to all users on the stable channel.

WhatsApp recently rolled out a bunch of new features to the app. WhatsApp Polls was launched last week on both Android and iOS. The feature allows users to poll within a group with the ability to vote. Facebook Messenger and Telegraph currently allow users to add group polls. The WhatsApp survey feature will be protected with end-to-end encryption.

The messaging app recently released Parrot alongside ‘communities’, a feature that allows users to have different groups under one umbrella to organize group chats. In addition, WhatsApp also rolled out one-tap video calling for up to 32 people and doubled the group participant limit. Like other features in the app, WhatsApp Polls will also be protected by end-to-end encryption, meaning the company cannot see the content of polls shared by groups.
