Call of Duty: Mobile Season 10 Adds Soccer Players, New Map
Call of Duty: Mobile brings famous soccer players to the game, with the 2022 FIFA World Cup just around the corner. As part of its Season 10 announcement, called “World Class,” Activision has confirmed that Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Paul Pogba will join the game as playable characters. The update arrives on November 10, 5:30am IST in India/ November 9, 4pm PT in the US. The World Cup starts on November 20 in Qatar. Other major additions include a new multiplayer map, three new Battle Royale locations, and Call of Duty: Mobile’s first, custom Mythic Operator.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 10 new operators
Activision has released the Call of Duty: Mobile trailer, featuring skilled athletes shooting at enemies, all over football fields, as Messi zips around on a futuristic bike. The publisher confirmed in a blog post that the arrival of users in Call of Duty: Mobile is designed to match the real-life FIFA world cup.
Season 10 also brings a new Battle Pass, which includes free and paid items such as new operators, weapon blueprints, Calling Cards, and Pogba’s operator skin. The last of those is only available as part of the Premium Battle Pass. Currently, there is no information on how players can unlock Argentina star Messi, or Brazil’s Neymar, as more details will be revealed at launch.
Last month, a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 leak revealed that the aforementioned footballers are on the verge of being included in the game. Although Activision has never acknowledged those claims, this new announcement on the mobile phone solidifies the possibility that they may arrive this season, perhaps later in the month. The Call of Duty franchise is no stranger to weird crossovers, even bringing in rapper Snoop Dogg at one point and teaming up with popular anime Attack on Titan for themed kits.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 10 new maps
As mentioned before, Call of Duty: Mobile Season 10 brings major map updates to its battle royale segment with three new points of interest in Isolated. There is an Atlas Shipwreck, an Atlas Repair Facility, and a new soccer field for players to test their skills. At the end of the regular multiplayer, we have a new mini-sized map, Crossroads Strike. Set in a snowy desert, fans may be able to see this arena from 2020’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as it comes to mobile as part of the season 10 update.
Standing in the snowy desert, players can switch between the Weapons Storage area and the Annex buildings to create a chaotic close combat situation. “Look at that sky bridge connecting the two – cross quickly so you don’t get caught in the open,” it read.
While Call of Duty: Mobile has the usual multiplayer features and battle royale experience, Activision has plans to release Call of Duty: Warzone for mobile, which focuses more on the latter. In 2023, Warzone Mobile throws 120 players across the map to scavenge for supplies and hunt down their opponents to stand up as the last man standing. The publisher notes that there will be some connections between the mobile and main versions of Warzone, such as social features (friends and chat) and progression, allowing for a shared battle pass system.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 10: World Class releases Thursday, November 10 at 5:30am IST in India/ Wednesday, November 9 at 4pm PT in the US, across Android, iOS, and iPadOS .
