ISRO To Explore The Dark Side Of The Moon With Japan, To Send A Probe To Mars

After trips to the Moon and Mars, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has now set its sights on Venus and is also planning to explore the dark side of the Moon in collaboration with Japan.

Delivering a presentation on ISRO’s future missions at the Akash Tattva conference here, Anil Bharwaj, Director of the Ahmedabad-based Physical Research Laboratory, said the space agency is planning to send a probe to Mars.

Bhardwaj said he is in discussions with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) about sending a lunar rover to explore the permanent location of the Moon.

As per initial plans, the lunar lander and rover developed by ISRO will be put into orbit by a Japanese rocket with a planned landing near the southern surface of the Moon.

“The rover will then travel to the permanent shadow region of the Moon that has never seen sunlight,” Bhardwaj said.

He said the exploration of the region is exciting as anything left in the PSR area is like living in the cold past.

Bhardwaj said Aditya L-1 will have a unique mission where the 400-kg class satellite carrying a payload will be placed in an orbit around the Sun in such a way that it can continuously observe the star at a point called the Lagrange Point. L. -1.

The orbit will be at a distance of 1.5 million kilometers from the Earth and will try to understand the coronal heat, the acceleration of the solar wind and the initiation of the coronal mass ejection, flares and the weather near the earth.

Bhardwaj said that the Aditya L-1 and Chandrayaan-3 missions will be considered important early next year and may be followed by a mission to Venus and a mission to the Moon by JAXA.

The success of the lunar rover on board Chandrayaan-3 was important as it will also be used in missions with JAXA.
