No 1 Phone Gets Latest Security Patch, More in New Update: Details

Nothing Phone 1 users have started receiving the Nothing OS 1.1.7 update. This update brings support for showing the battery percentage of AirPods. The feature is currently under testing and some users have reported that it sometimes does not work as intended. In addition to bug fixes and other minor improvements, this latest Nothing OS update also includes the November 2022 Android security patch. It goes without saying that this update improves the overall fluidity of the OS and reduces stutters. It is also said to improve the sound quality while recording videos on the handset.

Nothing has started rolling out the Nothing OS 1.1.7 update for the Nothing Phone 1 and it includes the November 2022 Android security patch. The company mentioned in the changelog of this update that it brings support for displaying the battery percentage of Apple AirPods. It is also planned to improve the accuracy of smartphone battery status as well.

No CEO Carl Pie took to Twitter to gather feedback on this latest update. Reactions have been mixed with a few users pointing out issues with the newly added battery status features.

The latest Nothing OS update also brings improved fluidity and reduced stuttering. The sound quality while recording videos is said to be improved as well. Apart from the usual bug fixes, the bug that was preventing WhatsApp notifications from responding on the lock screen has also been resolved.

The thermal threshold has been adjusted to improve the balance between performance and temperature of the handset. Nothing OS 1.1.7 update is 79.72MB in size. Users get this version as an over-the-air (OTA) update. They can also install it manually by going to Settings > System > System updates,

Pie recently teased that the Android 13 Nothing OS 1.5.0 beta will be out soon. No date has been set for the Nothing OS 1.5.0 open beta program, but it should arrive by the end of this year. Nothing Phone 1 Android 13 stable update is expected to be released in early 2023.
