PS5 DualSense Edge Controller pre-orders Live in India, Priced at Rs. 18,990
PS5’s DualSense Edge wireless controllers will be up for pre-order in India. The “highly customizable” PlayStation gamepads are set to launch globally on January 26, 2023, and arrive in India on the same day. Pre-orders are now live across Amazon India, e2z Store, GamesTheShop, and Sony Center, for Rs. 18,990. Sony doesn’t seem to be giving regional pricing for its latest product, as it costs $199.99 (roughly Rs. 16,300) in the US. International pre-orders peaked on October 25, almost a month before India got the chance.
The PS5 DualSense Edge is essentially Sony’s answer (very close) to Xbox’s Elite Series of controllers. This marks the first time that the company is taking a step towards custom controls, as previously, players had to rely on external stores such as Scuf Games with the same characteristics. And while those are establishing their strengths on the hardware front, PlayStation ups the ante with software options to create a more personalized gaming experience. Key features include button remapping, adjustable stick caps, and unique profile settings, which can be changed depending on the game.
After the pre-order period, Sony said that the DualSense Edge controllers will be available for purchase in participating stores, starting on February 23, 2023. Remember, this date is allocated to remember the international customer base, namely India. sale dates may vary. In October, PlayStation confirmed interchangeable stick module, priced at $19.99 (roughly Rs. 1,700), to be available for pre-order, though it is not available anywhere on the aforementioned Indian digital stores.
The PS5’s DualSense Edge controller comes packaged in a white carrying case, which includes a USB-C charging port. Then there are three pairs of interchangeable thumb caps, and two pairs of buttons on the back – the latter providing an extra edge, as it can be adjusted for additional inputs. Similar to the side buttons on a gaming mouse. Analogue stick caps are divided into standard, high-dome, and low-dome categories, and can be easily adjusted to suit your finger alignment.
