Realme New GT Neo 5, An Upgraded Budget Phone

Realme Neo GT 5 is said to be launched as the company’s next GT Neo smartphone series. According to information shared by a tipster citing a Realme executive, the company plans to launch an affordable foldable phone in the future. Realme is also thought to launch two new models every year in the GT Neo series and the Numeric series. The company is yet to announce plans to launch the smartphones mentioned by the tipster, including a foldable handset that is said to be affordable.

Tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore wrote on Twitter details of the company’s plans to launch the Realme GT Neo 5 as the next Realme GT Neo phone. Ambhore quoted the company’s Vice President Xu Qi Chase, sharing a photo of the senior executive being clicked at a public event.

Realme plans to release two series numbers and GT Neo models every year from now on, the tipster said. The number series model may be released in the middle of the year while the second one will make its debut towards the end of the year.

The company also plans to add two new GT phones every year, according to the tipster. At the time, the company was said to be working on a budget foldable phone, but Ambhore did not provide details of the alleged “budget” handset.

Folding capabilities have always been limited to flagship models from rivals like Samsung, Oppo, and Motorola. This may change with the supposedly affordable foldable phone the company is said to be working on.

Realme recently launched the Realme 10 Pro, and Realme 10 Pro+ models that sported a 108-megapixel rear camera in China. The company has revealed that the smartphones could be launched in India soon.
