The world population will cross 8 billion today, India will lead the population next year
The report ‘World Population Prospects’, released on Earth Day, says that between 2022 and 2050, the population of 61 countries could decrease by one percent or more. There will be reasons like migration after this. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, said, “This year’s World Earth Day comes on a day when we are estimated to be more than eight billion people in the world.” And there is an opportunity to build on the achievements of the medical field in increasing life expectancy and reducing maternal and child mortality rates.”
With this, Antonio said, “Although we are reminded of our common responsibility to take care of our planet, it is also a moment of reflection where our bonds to each other fail.” Eight countries will account for more than half of the world’s population growth by 2050. These countries include India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Philippines, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Congo and Egypt.
China is the most populous country in the world from the last several countries. However, due to strict regulations implemented by the Chinese government, the rate of population growth has decreased significantly. Because of this, next year China is expected to drop to second place in terms of population. In other countries such as Japan, the birth rate continues to decline. In India also the central government has implemented other population control programs. Despite this, the country’s population growth rate remains high. Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in the country. The average global life expectancy at birth increased three years earlier to 72.8 years. This is an increase of almost nine years since 1990.
