Twitter will soon allow organizations to identify their associated accounts
Twitter billionaire Elon Musk said on Sunday that Twitter will soon allow organizations to identify Twitter accounts associated with them as Twitter’s new owners continue to find ways to reduce fake accounts on the platform.
“It’s coming out soon,” Musk said in a tweet on Sunday. “Twitter will allow organizations to see which other Twitter accounts are associated with them.”
He did not elaborate.
The social network temporarily suspended its newly announced $8 (roughly Rs. 650) blue check subscription service on Friday as fake accounts proliferated, and new owner Elon Musk returned the “legitimate” badge to some social media users.
Fake accounts of so-called big brands have appeared in blue checks since the new release, including Musk’s Tesla and SpaceX, as well as Roblox, Nestle and Lockheed Martin.
Musk said in a tweet yesterday that Twitter Blue will likely “return by the end of next week”.
Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk on Thursday hinted at the possibility of the social network running out of money, the day its trusted and security chief left the company.
Twitter has eliminated 4,400 of its 5,500 contract workers, with cuts expected to have a major impact on content moderation and core infrastructure services, Casey Newton, a reporter for the tech publication Platformer, tweeted on Sunday.
Twitter did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
