Avatar: The Last Airbender just got its final trailer. Disney and 20th Century Studios have dropped the final trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, expanding on the magical world of Pandora by taking fans down the deep blue sea. Set over a decade from the original 2009 film, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) start a family. As a familiar threat in the form of mecha robots rises on the horizon, they are forced to evacuate and seek help from the Metkayina Na’vi clan on the coast. Avatar: The Way of Water is released in theaters on December 16.

“Treat them like brothers and sisters,” Metkayina leader Tonowari (Cliff Curtis) tells his family members. “Teach them our ways.” Although they were initially repulsed by the banishment, the Shoreline nation now seems to have taken Jake’s pleas to heart, seeing how an alliance between the two could benefit during a major war. “If you want to stay here, you have to ride,” young free diver Aonung instructs Jake’s (Worthington) children before the group embarks on an exciting underwater adventure, riding a slug-like Ilu — akin to the terrestrial Na’ vi horses. . The Avatar: Way of Water trailer focuses on Metkayina’s close relationship with tulkuns, sentient whale-like creatures, with whom our heroes learn to communicate.

In the middle of the Avatar: The Way of Water trailer, mecha-pilot robots, driven by humans, armed with flamethrowers, invade countries and start burning everything in sight. Both nations come together for the event, riding aboard Skimwings in the air and bringing down primitive attacks in the form of long spears and arrows, targeting weak spots in the attackers’ craft. As seen in the previous trailer, the sequel continues its trend of forbidden love – this time, between Jake’s son Lo’ak (British Dalton) and Metkayina native Tsireya (Bailey Bass). When he talks about being born an outcast, the latter assures him that he trusts him, saying, “I see you”—a throwback to the 2009 movie Avatar.

That’s your limit. That’s your break. This grosses $2 billion (roughly Rs. 16,400), rivaling his 1997 romantic film, The TitanicIn an interview with Total Film, earlier this month, the filmmaker said he is willing to end the Avatar franchise with a trilogy, if the Way of Water does not work well, citing the COVID-19 pandemic and streaming platforms as obstacles.
