Watch the Trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. The 3rd trailer is finally here — in English and Hindi. At this year’s Comic-Con Experience (CCXP), in Brazil, Marvel Studios dropped the trailer for James Gunn’s third and final chapter that serves as a fitting end to our intergalactic arc. While it doesn’t present itself as a bloodbath – Suicide Squad – prepare to have your heart ripped out, as the trailer takes a look at Rocket Racoon’s background, while the team is still reeling from Gamora’s death in Avengers: Endgame. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the second entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5 lineup, and will be released in May, next year.

Music has always been a trademark of Gunn’s movies, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer follows, as our space pirates head off on their next interstellar journey, the Spacehog song “In the Metimeme” plays in the distance. “We’ve been going for a long time,” says Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), as their ship carefully dives into the new planet. “But no matter what happens next, the galaxy still needs its Guardians.” We arrive on an earth-like planet, inhabited by aliens with anthropomorphic faces, who seem hospitable at first, one of the children throws a ball to Drax (Dave Bautista), wanting to play with him. Sure enough, the muscle-headed brute responds by kicking the ball back into the girl’s face, causing the neighborhood to turn hostile and throw rocks at our heroes.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Trailer 3 then cuts to show the emotional side of the movie, as our heroes struggle to deal with the effects of the Blip. “Don’t forget where we came from,” says Mantis (Pom Klementieff) as we’re presented with shocking images of Rocket Raccoon’s (Bradley Cooper) past – caged, experimented on in a strange lab, and separated from his own. Entering a friend Wal Rus. Elsewhere, an alternate version of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), now working with the Ravagers, tries to explain to Quill that the person she loved is no longer here and that she can’t return those feelings. Among the stars, we see our heroes leaping into a fleshy, spinning object, resembling one of those biblically accurate angel statues seen on the internet. It’s also notable that the Guardians are wearing brightly colored spacesuits, which they haven’t used while traversing the galaxy in the past.
The problem comes in the form of Chukwudi Iwuji’s (the peacemaker) High Evolutionary, a scientist who wants to take what he sees as lower life forms and develop them into a “perfect species”. Will Poulter’s golden-hued Adam Warlock also makes a brief appearance, before we see Groot (Vin Diesel) resort to using guns, confronting Star-Lord, and shouting, “We are Groot!”
Last month, Gunn’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special aired exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar, which saw our team of heroes kidnap actor Kevin Bacon. The filmmaker now works at DC Studios as CEO, alongside producer Peter Safran, and will oversee all future DC Comics movies, TV series, and animation projects. On Twitter, the director again confirmed that he plans to connect other video games with the larger DC Universe.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to be released on May 5, 2023, in theaters worldwide.
