Why Gigi Hadid Deleted Her Twitter Account After Elon Musk Takeover Deal
The American supermodel Gigi Hadid is no longer on Twitter, all thanks to Elon Musk, the new manager of the microblogging site.
Speaking on Instagram, Gigi announced that she had closed her Twitter account amid a flurry of staff, including a human rights group, Page Six reported.
Criticizing Musk for his leadership, Gigi wrote, “It has been a long time, but especially with its new leadership, it is becoming more and more a wasteland of hatred and bigotry, [sic] it’s not a place I want to be a part (sic) of.”
He also apologized to his fans for closing his Twitter account.
“I apologize only to the fans, with whom I have liked to communicate for ten years through Twitter, but I cannot say that “I cannot remain a safe place for anyone, or a social network that will do more good than harm, he concludes.
Alongside his statement, he included a tweet by Human Rights Counsel Shannon Raj Singh about layoffs at the tech giant.

Last week, Musk fired hundreds of employees after taking over Twitter.
Defending his decision to fire employees, Musk said it was necessary as Twitter was losing more than $4 million (roughly Rs. 32,755 crore) a day. “Regarding reducing the performance of Twitter, unfortunately, there is no choice when the company loses more than USD 4M / day. Everyone who left was given 3 months of dismissal, which is 50 percent more than what is required by law,” said Musk.
On Saturday, Twitter also started rolling out a paid subscription plan where users will have to pay $8 (about Rs. 655) for a blue token.
