YouTube Music Update Brings Now Playing Screen Redesign: Report
YouTube Music has been receiving small but useful updates over time and its latest update makes the Now Playing screen simpler and more user-friendly. These changes are related to the Now Playing screen where some interface elements have been moved to open up a new feature, while the dislike button has been completely removed. However, at the same time, it shakes things up, which can make things confusing or confusing. The update is a server-side change and is reportedly rolling out in phases to Android devices. Our iOS device does not show the new changes yet.
According to a reports with 9to5Google, the main thing missing is the dislike button. Users will no longer be able to dislike a song or video, but Google has retained the important Like button to learn what users like and come up with better suggestions and playlists, the report said.
There’s now a new feature at the top of the Now Playing screen, which lets users know where a song is playing, according to the report. It may seem like it complicates the layout, but it’s very useful as it reduces the need to swipe up from the bottom of the screen from the “Next” section to know which album, playlist, or track you’re on. The addition of the “Playing from” feature means that the video and song changer is reportedly down. The album art is now said to have rounded corners and the song title and artist details are reportedly left aligned as the dislike button is gone. Another minor change, as per the report, is the pause and play button which is no longer themed with artwork and gets a white background.
In the previous update, the Android version of the YouTube app received a redesigned playlist with a cleaner looking layout. In a recent update, YouTube Music started showing the “other apps” section from the related tab below the “you might like” and “recommended playlists” sections. The category appears mainly in popular songs and artists, but in both audio and video formats. Opening a category basically allows users to watch concert clips, live performances, covers, and remixes related to songs, reducing the need to switch to the YouTube app to check out other performances by the same artist.
